I Have the Right To by Chessy Prout: Book Review

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This powerful and moving story takes us on a journey with Chessy as she overcomes a horrible experience.

It was one of the first non-fiction books I’ve read in a while. I found the photos made the story so much more impactful, as they reminded the reader that this was a real person suffering and going through the events described, not a fictional character.

However, it’s clear that this is Chessy’s first book because as a reader there were parts that were lacking or too over-detailed. This is no hate at all to her, but I would recommend this to people who want to learn more about a survivor's experience.

Chessy, if you’re reading this I wish you the best and I hope you know how inspiring and influential you are.

"When a jerk stuck up his middle finger... I stood taller, held my sign higher, and yelled louder. Because I had the right to."
