Circe by Madeline Miller: Book review

"It is a common saying that women are delicate creatures, flowers, eggs, anything that may be crushed in a moment's carelessness. If I had ever believed it, I no longer did."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Wow. Just wow.

I can't begin to describe how amazing this book is. Taking a character considered cruel in the Odyssey, the most revolutionary art of literature, and giving her a story; a reason behind why she does the things she does.

It was such a beautifully written book, although after reading The Song of Achilles, I'm not surprised, as Miller's writing style is flawless. Each word is like a brushstroke, creating a vivid and personal connection to Circe's world.

What's truly amazing about the novel, is how Circe is depicted. Miller manages to make Circe feel relatable, human, and vulnerable, allowing me to empathize with her on a profound level. In the end, "Circe" is a book that I will forever hold close to my heart, as it reimagines ancient myths and offers a deeply personal and transformative experience.
